With the introduction of Artidoc Structure, the need of better versioning of Artidocs increases. With Artidoc 16.0, the versioning is indirectly done via artifact history, however the change of the Artidoc itself (add, remove section) is not.

As soon as we introduce Free Text and Structure, we also need to record those changes.

What needs to be versioned ?

• Each change in Structure (titles, free text), including images

• Each change in the the Document

  • New artifact

  • New version of Artifact (either from Artidoc or changes that comes from other sources)

  • Removal of artifact

  • New title

  • Modification of title

  • Removal of title

  • New Free text

  • Modification of free text

  • Removal of free text

• How do we handle the delete of an artifact ?

In this first version of the epic, the goal is to:

• See previous version of Artidoc (must)

• Know what was changed (should)

Document cloning

When an artidoc is duplicated, the first version of the duplicated document has a reference to the version of the source document.
