As a person creating or editing an artifact in modal view
I want to know when an action I'm taking will discard any edits I've made without saving ahead of that discard taking place
So that: I don't have any unexpected data los
So that: I don't get frustrated that I have to reenter all the information I just captured
When creating a new artifact in kanban/modal window mode, if you click on any resource available in that Tuleap browser tab, it exits you automatically from the modal window without any warning to ask if you want to save or cancel.
When an artifact is created in "tracker mode", clicking on services automatically opens in a new browser tab, and any information I have captured in the artifact at that point remains in place.
However, if an artifact is creating using the Kanban/modal window clicking a service immediately closes the current kanban modal window, and any data that has been entered is lost.
I would expect that there would be a warning that data has been entered for that artifact but is not yet saved - it would give the person a chance to decide whether to cancel the navigation action and return to the artifact and save what they had entered so far.
Has consideration been given to a Save/Cancel/Discard-type dialog for the modal windows?
