There are existing issues with the drag and drop API with chromium-based browsers (Chrome/Chromium/Edge) impacting the Document application.
These issues cannot be addressed on Tuleap side, and therefore will be only fixed by the companies editing the aforementioned browsers through updates.
Feel free to update this list if any other chrome-based browser issue messes with the Document app's Drag & Drop feature.
Drag & Drop .msg files directly from Outlook into Document
Summary: This issue prevents the user to drag a message file (.msg
extension) from the outlook app into Drop handlers.
Result: It causes the "The object is not a file" error.
Workarounds:
- Download the message first, then Drag & Drop it from your file explorer into the Document app.
- Upload your file using the [+ New] > File modal

Drag and drop fails sporadically in Linux Wayland
Summary: When using Wayland as a windowing system, Drag & Dropping files from your file explorer into the Document app does not work.
Result: It causes the "The object is not a file" error.
Workarounds:
- Switch your browser to Mozilla Firefox
- Keep your browser, but switch your windowing system from Wayland to Xorg/X11
