I want: to configure which backlog milestones are shown in the sidebar
So that: I can quickly navigate to the backlogs that matter to me

Currently, there are two project-wide settings for the backlog display in the sidebar: show the last 5 current milestones or do not display milestones in the sidebar at all.

Our users work in a variety of milestones based on their team, and so having this configured at the project level means only up to 5 teams get their pertinent milestones shown in the sidebar. We have more than 5 teams, so this is unfair to our users. And yet, we do appreciate having a quick-access in the sidebar, so don't want to disable it altogether.

We would love any individual or combination of the following:

• a way to be able to configure at the project level how many milestones are displayed (for example, 7 or 8 as opposed to 5)
• a way to configure at the project level which types of milestones show in the sidebar (for instance, maybe only releases or only sprints, not a combination of both)
• a way to configure, on a user basis, which milestones they want to see in the sidebar (for example, maybe one user wants to see these 3 specific milestones and another user wants to see a different 2 milestones there)
