    gerrit tab disappears if one of the servers is off-line
    yet to identify the exact steps for reproducing. However, it would seem that if one of gerrit servers is offline or connecting to it results in "IT IS POSSIBLE THAT SOMEONE IS DOING SOMETHING NASTY!" then the gerrit options disappear from the repository options.

    Bad assumption. Gerrit is only compatible with ldap authentication.
