Automatically set field value from parent
    Hi,

We are using the Agile Dashboard trackers, including Stories and Tasks. We've added a field 'Team' on the stories are several teams are working on the same project and thus the same backlog.

This field is also added to the Tasks, and we wanted to assign its value directly from the Story 'team', when a new child Task is created under a Story.

Is it currently possible ? I haven't find a way to do it. If not, I think that it may be a good improvement.

    Regards

I have tried it but it doesn't really answer to my needs.

In fact, in our workflow, the story are created first, and assigned to a team during the Sprint planning. This means that the 'team' field is set previously to any task creation, and must not be modified after.

Then, when the team starts to work on a story, they create the children tasks. It's during this phase that the task team field should be populated automatically. They could set the team manually but this is a bit tricky.

In Tracker administration of your Story tracker you should be able to define a Trigger (Workflow section).

    This trigger would be:
Set field "Team" with value "A" when "at least one children "Task" field "team" is set to "A"

Does it fit your needs ?
